Job description

We are working with an independent veterinary practice in Derby who are currently recruiting for a qualified veterinary nurse to join them on a full time, permanent basis. You will be joining a team of 3 nurses to provide a high standard of veterinary care to all clients and assist the vet's when required. This role is suitable for qualified nurses of all experience levels and ideally you will have a clinical coach qualification or be willing to take one on.

Key Details:

Type: Small animal only

Hours: Mixture of 8:00am - 4:00pm and 10:00am - 6:00pm shifts

Weekends: 1 in 5 Saturdays 9:00am until 3:00pm

Sole charge: None required

OOH: None required

Branch work: Not required, sole site practice

Team: 2 Vets, 3 Nurses and a team of support staff

About them:

A well established Independent veterinary practice operating over 1 site in Derby who provide a variety of levels of care to all small animal clients. The practice is fully equipped with operating facilities, dental equipment, in house laboratory, radiography, ultrasound and much more.

Main duties:

Run nurse clinics

Carry out laboratory work

Perform post op consultations

Carry out blood pressure checks

Assist in interesting surgical procedures

Monitor and provide treatment to overnight and day patients

Triage and assist with emergency procedures

The Person:

They are looking for a qualified veterinary nurse, registered with the RCVS

They are looking for a nurse willing to train to be a clinical coach or with the qualification already

You will have excellent communication and customer service skills

The Package:

Salary between 20,000 & 24,000 per annum
