Job description

We are recruiting for a small animal practice in Basingstoke to join them on a Permanent basis working a 34 hour week.

The practice is looking for an enthusiastic RVN to join their large team of 10 Nurses. The role involves a 34-hour working week over 4 days with 1 full day off per week and then a 1:4 Saturday rota and no ooh.

The practice pride themselves on having an excellent staff retention level and providing a close-knit family feel environment which is a pleasure to work in. They are dedicated to providing a high standard of clinical care and are full equipped with facilities including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in house laboratory, arthroscope, endoscope and an in-house laboratory and more. They also have a dedicated nurse consulting room.

As this is a 34-hour working week the salary package is 22,000 - 29,000 per annum which would be equivalent to 25,000 - 34,000 per annum for a 40-hour working week. The salary is commensurate to experience.

The roles involve all aspects of general nursing including:

  • Assisting in the day to day running of the practice
  • Admissions & Discharges
  • Working alongside the non-clinical and clinical team to ensure the smooth delivery of patient and client care.
  • Be responsible and take ownership of tasks
  • Monitoring operations and assisting the Vet in surgery
  • Administering medications and taking records accurately
  • In patient care
  • Nurse clinics
  • Measuring blood pressure, sampling, and pharmacy work.

  • Hours: Monday - Friday - 4 days 34 hours per week
  • Weekends: 1:4 Saturdays
  • OOH: None
  • Sole Charge: None
  • Computer System: RX Works
  • Consultations: 15 minutes
  • Team: 10 Nurse team
