Job description

We are recruiting a veterinary nurse for a small animal practice in Abergavenny, in Monmouthshire, South Wales. Full or part time hours available, 30 - 40 hours per week. No OOHs or on call work, and a small volume of weekend work on a rota.

A normal day shift will be between the hours of 8.30am-6.30pm , with occasional late shifts between the hours of 1.00pm - 10.30pm, which is paid at an increased rate. Weekend shifts are 8:30am - 6pm.

Key Details:

  • Hours: Full-time up to 38 hours (part-time available 30 hours per week)
  • Weekdays: Mixture of shifts 8:30am to 6:30pm,1pm to 10pm
  • Weekends: 8:30 - 6pm on a rota
  • OOH: None required
  • Team: 4 Full time Vets, 5 RVNs and 8 admin/reception staff
  • Consultations: 15 Minutes
  • Other: Varied caseload

About them:

Well established, independent RCVS accredited small animal practice with an additional branch practice. Two fully equipped sites, one in the lovely market town of Abergavenny in Monmouthshire, the other 10 miles away in the Welsh Valley Town of Ebbw Vale.

Both sites have ultrasound, digital Xray, Idexx Lasercyte and Catalyst Biochemistry, lab facilities. They use SmartFlow paperless systems for in-patient and anaesthetic monitoring .All anaesthetic machines are Humphrey ADE circuits with oxygen generation on-site.

Person:

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and competent Registered Veterinary Nurse with a positive attitude to all areas of the role. Candidates must have at least one year of experience working in practice.
