Job description

We are recruiting a Permanent Clinical Director to join a small animal independent practice in Warrington.

The practice are looking for an passionate and enthusiastic clinical director to lead a team and ensure the continual delivery of exceptional clinical care. This role is ideal for a senior or lead vet looking to progress in their career.

This role is full time for 4 days per week with 1 in 4 weekends.

The practice boasts a professional and friendly team of 2 vets, 4 RVNs and 1 SVN along with supporting non-clinical staff.

About the practice:

This is an established practice with all the latest diagnostic technology and facilities. A vet with an advanced surgical bias would be advantageous, and the facilities are well suited to this passion. The practice sees a wide variety of cases including more complex surgeries which enables the development of clinical skills and knowledge. The role offers the clinical director the opportunity to take part in a wide range of clinical activities.

About the role

As a Clinical Director you would be expected to have a wider role not only within the practice but also within the group and continually input into activities and the direction of the company. The right candidate would be passionate about clinical coaching, teaching and mentoring colleagues. This is a management position, so it is vital that the right candidate is keen to move into this area. Previous experience in leading a team is also required. You must be highly experienced in all areas of veterinary medicine and procedures, so it is advantageous if you have 10 years post qualified experience. There is a generous package which is commensurate with experience.

About you:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role would be advantageous but not essential
  • You will be ambitious and looking to take on a managerial role
  • You will be passionate about coaching, teaching and mentoring colleagues to utilise their skills to the maximum
  • You will support and encourage career development within the team
  • You will actively input into the progression of the practice and the company ensuring both remain at the forefront of clinical thinking
  • You will be a passionate dedicated veterinary surgeon committed to delivering a high standard of clinical care.
  • You will be an integral part of the running of the dynamic forward-thinking clinic
  • You will have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • You will have a caring attitude and strive to continually improve your professional knowledge
  • You will have a genuine passion for animal welfare and actively educate owners about their pets

Package:

  • Salary: Up to 75,000 per annum, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 33 days annual leave, including bank holidays
  • CPD: Generous allowance of 1,500 plus 5 days to attend

RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
