Job description

We have an opportunity at a practice located in St Helens who are recruiting for a Permanent Team Leader Veterinary Nurse to join their team of committed theatre referral clinicians.

This first opinion and referral practice is home to a team of 20 vets and over 50 nurses at their main hospital, with ACAs, SVNs, RVNs and Diploma holding RVNs. They have 9 other branches in the area.

This role is based in theatre assisting the referral clinicians with a varied and busy case load including orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery and imaging. The practice has on site CT and MRI scanners as well as multiparameter monitoring equipment, and a team of very experienced and knowledgeable theatre nurses.

The candidate will be an experienced RVN with great leadership and organisational skills with a passion for surgical nursing and anaesthesia. Previous referral nursing is essential.

The role will require you to work 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday. The shifts will be 8am to 4pm and 10:30am to 6:30pm on alternate weeks, along with the additional 12pm to 8pm cover. You will also work 1 in 5 full weekends. There will be no mandatory OOH work but, if desirable, there is the opportunity to pick up additional paid shifts.

About you:

  • You will need to be confident in your own abilities and have excellent clinical and customer service skills to succeed in this
  • Teamwork, patient care, high standards and relationships building with clients are at the forefront of what they do
  • They are looking for an enthusiastic, goal oriented and self-motivated veterinary nurse to continue the rapid growth of the practice.
  • You will need to be comfortable liaising with other veterinary team members, specialists and service providers

Package:

  • Salary: 25,000 to 28,000 per annum
