Job description

We are recruiting a permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join an established small animal referral practice in St Helens on a full-time basis. They require a Soft Tissue Veterinary surgeon to join their large team of specialised veterinary surgeons.

This is an established referral practice specialising in Orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, dermatology, exotic medicine, and cardiology. They have state of the art facilities and equipment such as an onsite CT scanner and MRI facilities. They boast a large team of Veterinary Surgeons with a variety of special interests, diplomas, and certificate holders.

About the role:

They require a Soft tissue veterinary surgeon to join their team. Ideally the Vet would have a strong interest in teaching and mentoring internal residents. This role offers career development opportunities leading to Head of Service. The Veterinary surgeon will need to be board certified in small animal surgery by the American, European, Australian or RCVS and be eligible for the RCVS Specialist status. The practice will also accept applications from residency trained candidates who are able to sit the qualifying specialist examinations.

The practice is located within in ideal commute from Manchester and Liverpool with excellent connections to major transport links. Located perfect for both city and country life.

This role is a full-time position Monday - Friday.

Key Details:

  • Type: Small Animal
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm
  • Weekends: Yes on a rota
  • OOH: On a rota
  • Sole Charge: Some
  • Consultations: 15 Minutes
  • Team: Multiple Veterinary Surgeons and RVNS with support staff

Person:

  • You will be specialised in Soft Tissue Surgery
  • You will be board certificate in small animal surgery
  • You will be eligible for the RCVS specialist status
  • You will have a strong interest in teaching / mentoring others

  • You must have excellent customer facing skills, empathy, work well with us and a genuine passion for animal welfare.

Package:

  • Salary - 50,000 -65,000 Pro Rata
