Job description

We are recruiting a permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join an established small animal practice in Cookstown Northern Ireland.

They are expanding and are looking to increase their team of 7 Vets, 11 Nurses and supporting staff. The practice sees a wide variety of high medical and surgical cases and more complex challenging trauma cases.

They require a veterinary surgeon who has good general experience and comfortable with routine surgeries and consultations. However, the vet will be ambitious and wish to progress to more advanced cases including studying towards a certificate. This is a role offering one to one support with rapid development and an excellent CPD package.

The practice is highly equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for all medical and surgical investigations. They are also a nurse training practice and offer both first opinion services as well as referral services from across Northern Ireland.

About the role:

The practice has more than one branch, so whilst the position is to be based at once there will be the occasional need to visit other practices.

The Vet will need to have a minimal of 2 years post qualification experience. The role is full time with 1:5 night on call and a on call weekend rota however time is given off in lieu once worked a weekend.

Person:

  • You will be 2 + years experienced as a minimum
  • You will be ambitious and looking to develop your clinical skill set and knowledge
  • You will have excellent customer facing skills
  • You will always deliver a high standard of clinical care
  • You will be a passionate and motivated veterinary surgeon with a genuine interest for animal welfare

Package:

  • Salary - 35,000 -50,000 Pro Rata
