Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent veterinary surgeons to join a small animal practice in Beverley, East Yorkshire.

The practice is now expanding their small animal services across the local area and are recruiting a new full time Veterinary Surgeon to help expand and grow the practice and the services offered further. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to have their own impact on how the practice moves forward.

They require a surgeon with some previous UK experience working within a similar role. You need to be happy with some sole charge work when required for consultations, general practice and first opinion basic surgeries.

This is a fully independent practice. The rota is working 4 weekdays with 1 night on call. A Nurse is also on call with the Vet. The weekend rota is a 1:5 on call and 2:5 Saturday mornings (one of which is the 1:5 on call weekend so essentially 3 weekends in 5 will be weekends off). There is additional support available to the vet on call should this be required however not a strict second rostered vet will be on call, but support none the less will be provided from the owner.

The practice are able to provide accommodation as part of the package should there be a veterinary surgeon relocating. A vehicle can also be provided if required. The overall salary package would be dependent on whether the accommodation and vehicle would be required.

Key Details:

Type: Small Animal only

Hours: Monday - Friday 4 days per week

Weekends: 2:5 Saturday mornings

OOH: 1:5 on call weekend

Sole Charge: Limited - when on call

Team: Large multi Vet, RVN team with SVNs and supporting staff

Consultations: 15 Minutes

Independent practice

Person:

You will always deliver a high standard of clinical care

You will have 1 + year post qualification experience

You will be looking to expand your career and move towards post graduate qualifications

You will be happy and ambitious and have active input into the development of the small animal services offered

You will be ambitious and looking to progress

Confident in areas of more complex surgeries would be an advantage

You will have excellent customer facing skills

You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians

You will be a passionate and motivated veterinary surgeon with a genuine interest for animal welfare

Package:

Salary - 35,000 - 45,000 Pro Rata
