Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent Senior Veterinary Surgeon to join a small animal practice Barnsley South Yorkshire.

The role is a full-time positions working 40 hours per week with a 1:4 weekend rota. There is some sole charge work involved. There is no OOH providing an excellent work / life balance.

The Vets would be joining a team of 3 Vets, 4 RVNS, VCA and a support team. The practice is bright modern and spacious and offers a range of facilities including digital x-ray, ultrasound, and an in-house laboratory.

For the lead position the practice is looking for an experience Veterinary Surgeon who is confident in medical and surgical cases. It is important that they have an approachable and friendly attitude and enjoy building strong working relationships with clients and fellow team members. They will be responsible for the smooth day to day running of the practice and will lead by example. They will enjoy coaching and mentoring others and providing leadership support to all team members.

There are further opportunities here to develop through to practice ownership and there is ongoing support available for professional development.

  • You will be able to establish good working relationships with clients and be confident in all consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice with ideas enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player

Package:

  • Salary: 45,000 - 55,000 Commensurate to experience
