Job description

We are currently recruiting for veterinary surgeon to join our clients out of hours team at their small animal practice near Ipswich, Suffolk. This position is full time and would involve working 1 week of 7 nights on and then having 3 weeks off alongside a full qualified veterinary nurse. The practice has a few branches within the area and from 6:00pm each day the out of hours emergencies for the group will be directed your way, meaning you will need to be competent and confident with your skills.

This role is to become the 4th vet in the out of hours team and will play a key part in providing and developing this service. The ideal start date would be January 2021 but if you are available sooner the practice would still love to hear from you.

Key Details:

Type: Small Animal only

Hour/rota: Each shift will be 6:00pm until 8:00am and will be worked on a 7 nights on 21 nights off rota.

Sole Charge: You will be the sole vet when working, with support of a qualified nurse

Location: Based in Ipswich at one practice only

Accommodation is provided whilst you are working.

A well-established veterinary group that provide a full small animal veterinary service to the local area across a few practices. They provide themselves on the level of care provided and feel its important to offer the full service from consultations, surgeries, in patient checks and out of hours care. They are fully equipped with the latest equipment including an in house Xray, hospitalisation ward, in house pharmacy, kennels, video otoscope and much more.

About you:

You will be an experienced and motivated veterinary surgeon ideally with experience in a similar role within the UK. The practice requires a candidate with a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience within the UK. You must work to high clinical standard, be focused, motivated and driven to help the practice develop.
