Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Aberdeen.

This is a full-time role with no OOH. There is weekend work on a rota basis.

The practice is a first opinion small animal practice which also sees a variety of small furries and exotics. Located close to the centre of Aberdeen it offers access to local amenities and transport links along with onsite parking.

The practice requires a forward-thinking Veterinary Surgeon. They must have confident surgical and medical skills with previous experience in Emergency and Critical Care work. There is an element of sole charge involved so the Vet also needs to be confident using equipment whilst in a sole charge role. There is support available with a team of Nurses, SVNS and supporting staff.

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in all areas of routine surgeries and medical cases
  • You will be confident with sole charge work
  • You will have a high level of surgical experience
  • You will be happy to mentor others
  • Previous experience in a lead role would be advantageous but not essential.
  • You will have experience with emergency and critical care work
  • You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player
