Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Head Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Aintree.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week with a 1:3 weekend rota and no ooh.

The practice is modern, purpose built and located on the outskirts of Liverpool with easy access to major transport links. It is easily accessible to both the coastline and the Peak District, Pennines, and the Lake District, so if you enjoy both City and Country life living this role could be for you!

The practice is well established, modern, and spacious and was opened 10 years ago. They have a large client base and offer a wide variety of modern veterinary services and facilities. It is full y equipped with all the toys including ECG, Ultrasound, In house Laboratory and Digital X-Ray. They comprise of a team of 2 Vets, 3 RVNS, 1 SVN, VCAs and supporting staff.

About the role

They are looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join the practice in a Head Vet position to support the practice owner in delivering excellent veterinary care and customer service and help continue to grow the business.

The Vet must be enthusiastic, confident, and compassionate with a passion for their work. They must be confident in medical and surgical cases. Previous experience in a leadership role would be advantageous. The Vet will be able to have their own clinical freedom and work up their own cases from start to finish with the support of the partner and the clinical team.

The competitive salary is commensurate to experience and support and funding is available for a certificate. There is also the opportunity of a future partnership!

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in all areas of routine surgeries and medical cases
  • A medical bias would be advantageous
  • You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.

Package:

  • Salary: 45,000 - 55,000 pro rata
