Job description


We are recruiting for a Permanent Head Veterinary Nurse to join a practice in Hemsworth West Yorkshire.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week with a 1:2 weekend rota.

The practice is looking for an experienced Head Veterinary Nurse to join them. They are looing for someone who enjoys running nurse clinics and looking after in patients. They will also particularly enjoy surgical nursing. Excellent client care skills are vital and the ability to build good soldi working relationships with both clients and fellow members of the team. they will be part of the smooth running of the practice day to day and lead by example. They will have caring, empathetic, and approachable attitude with excellent communication skills.

The role involves all aspects of general nursing including

  • Assisting in the day to day running of the practice
  • Admissions & Discharges
  • Working alongside the non-clinical and clinical team to ensure the smooth delivery of patient and client care.
  • Be responsible and take ownership of tasks
  • Monitoring operations and assisting the Vet in surgery
  • Administering medications and taking records accurately
  • In patient care
  • Nurse clinics
  • Measuring blood pressure, sampling, and pharmacy work.

Key Details:

  • Type: Small Animal
  • Hours: Monday - Friday Full time
  • Weekends: 1:3 weekend rota
  • OOH: None
  • Sole Charge: None
  • Computer System: RX Works
  • Consultations: 15 - 30 minutes
  • Team: 1 Vets 3 Nurses and non-clinical team.
