Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Head Veterinary Nurse to join a practice in Clapham, London. This is a full time for 4 days per week, along with 1 in 4 weekends. There will be time off in lieu of working a weekend.

The practice

The practices provide a high standard of clinical care and pride themselves on having staff members who stand apart from the rest and have a real passion and vision for how they work. They provide ongoing training and support to all team members through dedicated training centres. All staff also benefit from the access to the best diagnostic equipment such as MRI machines and CT scanners and state of the art operating theatres in their nearest state of the art Animal Hospital.

The practice performs a large number of procedures including cardiac scans and endoscopy and is fully equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment including Ultrasound, endoscope, laparoscopic stack system for keyhole surgery and a full in house laboratory.

Two of the Vets within the practice are certificate holding Veterinary Surgeons in cardiology and endo-surgery.

About the role

The role will involve all aspects of general nursing and the Head RVN will be expected to be proactive in maintaining their professional and clinical skills as well as looking at ways to develop standards within the practice further.

The RVN mist have a passionate and driven attitude and will be expected to ensure the client and patient experience is of the highest quality whilst also developing and leading the nursing team.

Who they are looking for

The RVN must have previous experience that is demonstrates initiative in patient welfare. They must be confident in their communication and customer service skills. Previous leadership experience would be an advantage but not essential. The must have a caring and empathetic attitude and be approachable. They must be compassionate with a genuine passion for animal welfare. They will enjoy mentoring and coaching fellow members of the team and will continue to look at ways I which the team can perform better as well as bringing out the best in all members of the team.

About you

  • You must have a friendly and compassionate attitude and be always approachable
  • You will be ambitious to continue with further education and training
  • You will enjoy training and providing support to others
  • You will have previous leadership experience ideally but this is not essential
  • You will have clinical coaching experience or be looking to become a clinical coach
  • You will be forward thinking, motivated, passionate with a genuine interest in animal welfare
  • You must be motivated and passionate about your work and share this and promote this ethos with other members of staff
  • You will enjoy working as part of a team
  • You will have a genuine passion for animal welfare
  • You will consistently deliver a high standard of clinical care
  • You will be caring, adaptable, hardworking, and reliable
  • You will have excellent communication and customer interfacing skills

Package:

  • Salary: Starting at 32,500 per annum, commensurate to experience
