Job description

We are recruiting for a Permanent Head Veterinary Nurse to join a small animal practice in Maida Vale London.

This is a full-time small animal position working 42 hours per week over 5 days. There is no OOH. The RNV would be required to work one bank holiday per year which they would get back in lieu.

The practice is part of a large group of practices across the London area and provide a high standard of clinical veterinary care and provide state of the art equipment and use the latest technology to delivery this. They pride themselves on establishing excellent working relationships with their clients and ensure excellent customer service is always delivered.

About the role:

The role involves all aspects of general nursing and they nurse would be expected to take a lead role on the day rota. They role involves supporting fellow nurses where required and to mentor where needed. There is scope to develop areas of special interest.

Role responsibilities:

  • The RVN will be expected to deliver an exceptional standard of clinical care
  • The RVN will adhere to practice protocols and standard operating procedures
  • The RV will provide support to fellow colleague where necessary
  • The RVN will be expected to build excellent working relationships with clients
  • The RVN will run Nurse clinics
  • The RVN will be happy to become a clinical coach.

  • Team: 2 Vet 2 RVN with reception team
  • Consultations: 15 Minutes

Facilities:

The practice provide a wide range of modern veterinary services and facilities as one would expect in a modern 1st opinion practice. This includes:

  • X - Ray
  • Dental Suite
  • Ultrasound
  • Separate waiting rooms and wards for dogs and cats
  • In House Laboratory

The Person:

  • You will be driven and ambitious and looking to take your career to the next step and develop your clinical and skills
  • You must be motivated and passionate about your work and share this and promote this ethos with other members of staff
  • Clinical coach experience is advantageous but not essential
  • You will be happy to become a clinical coach
  • You will enjoy working as part of a team
  • You will have a genuine passion for animal welfare
  • You will consistently deliver a high standard of clinical care
  • You will be caring, adaptable, hardworking and reliable
  • You will have excellent communication and customer interfacing skills

The Package:

  • Salary 23,000 - 30,000 Pro Rata
  • Holiday Allowance: 25 days holiday plus bank holiday

Must have:

  • RCVS registered and qualified
