Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent veterinary surgeon to join a lovely multi site practice in Stockport on a full time basis. They offer an excellent work life balance working no more than 40 hours per week with no OOH and only 1 in 6 full weekend and 1:6 Saturdays with time off in lieu.

The role is Monday - Friday working 9am - 6.456pm and the weekend rota is 1:6 full weekends and 1:6 Saturdays. There are two days off in lieu the following week. The full weekend shift comprises of mixture of consultations, Surgeries and hospital work and evening shifts. The role involves working across the branches and within the main animal hospital.

The practice boasts an excellent reputation across Stockport and Greater Manchester. There is a strong supportive team with various levels of experience.

A vet with enough experience to work weekend shifts that may be sole charge consulting or alongside other vets in the hospital. Weekday shifts may be a combination of sole charge at smaller branches or at the larger multi vet branches.

About the role:

The practice requires a veterinary surgeon who has good general medical and surgical skills and who is also comfortable working sole charge on occasion. Excellent customer service skills are vital and the ability to establish good working relationships with clients, patients and fellow team members. The practice believes strongly in case continuity so the vet will be able to work up cases fully and see them from start to finish with plenty of time available to document the services provided.

The vet must be enthusiastic and passionate about their work. As a busy practice there is excellent opportunities to continue to learn and grow and areas of special interest are actively encouraged and supported.

Consults take place in the morning and there is usually a large break in between the afternoon, when they can spend time doing whatever they please.

This role is ideal for a passionate and enthusiastic experienced veterinary surgeon who is looking for the perfect balance between their veterinary work and their time off.

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in all areas of routine surgeries and medical cases

  • You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
