Job description

We are recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent veterinary practice near Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater inManchester. This is a full-time position with a weekend rota of Saturdays only and no ooh. There is some occasional sole charge work involved, although ordinarily you will be joined by a team of 4 Vets, 6RVNs and 4 Auxiliary nurses.

This role is 40 hours a week, spread across either 4 or 5 days (subject to your choice), with a 1 in 4 Saturday rota. One week will be 7:45am - 4:15pm and the next will be shifts of 11am - 7:30pm. These alternativeeach week.

The practices provide a high standard of clinical care and pride themselves on having staff members who stand apart from the rest and have a real passion and vision for how they work. They provide ongoing training and support to all team members through dedicated training centres.

All staff also benefit from the access to the best diagnostic equipment such as MRI machines and CT scanners and state of the art operating theatres in the nearest state-of-the-art Animal Hospital.

About the role

The Vets who currently work at the practice have over 30 years combined experience between them meaning they can offer support for a Veterinary Surgeon looking to take the next step and develop their clinical skill set. Therefore, this role would be ideal for a Surgeon who has a minimum of 2 years' experience in both consultations and surgery. They must have a passionate and motivated attitude and have excellent customer service and communication skills and work well as part of a team.

  • Type: Small Animal
  • Hours: Monday - Friday (Full time)
  • Weekends: 1:3 Saturdays / 1.6 Saturday and Sundays
  • Sole Charge: Occasionally
  • OOH: None
  • Branch work: None
  • Consultations: 15 Minutes
  • Team: 6 Vets, 6 RVNs, 6 Auxiliary nurses and additional support team

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will have a minimum of 1 years' experience in surgery and consultations
  • You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking
  • You will be passionate, motivated, and driven and want to move the practice forward
  • You will be ambitious and forward-thinking Veterinary Surgeon
  • You will be comfortable with some sole charge work when required
