Job description

A mixed animal practice located in Shropshire are looking to recruit a large farm animal veterinary surgeon on a permanent basis, to join their growing team. This role would ideally suit an experienced veterinary surgeon perhaps looking to relocate and have a new challenge. This role is predominately working with Beef, Sheep, Dairy and occasional poultry, with seasonal game bird jobs. The vet will also need to be happy to do some occasional small animal work.

This independent practice have a team of experienced vets, all with a shared passion for providing the very best large animal veterinary care. This is a full time role, working 4/5 days a week Monday to Friday. There is a Saturday morning rota of around 1 in 4, with time off in lieu and paid additionally to the salary.

Key Details:

  • Type: Large / Farm Animal / Occasional Small Animal
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5;30pm
  • Weekends: Occasional Saturday work
  • OOH: Shared out of hours. There is an additional call out fee.
  • Lieu: Yes, time off in Lieu when worked a weekend on call and a second on call is rewarded with a day working from home.

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will need to be confident in sole charge work
  • You must be competent in all areas of large / farm animal work and occasional small animal work
  • Experience in TB Testing experience is advantageous
  • You will be a forward-thinking vet, compassionate and enthusiasm with a positive attitude
  • You would be qualified in fertility, cattle health and production, foot care and mobility, young stock and farm management

Package:

  • Salary: 35,000 - 45,000 DOE

Must haves:

  • RCVS registered and qualified
