Job description

We are recruiting for a permanent veterinary surgeon to join a practice in Dewsbury West Yorkshire on either a full or part time basis. This is a small animal established practice. Its purpose built, modern with all the equipment as one would expect. It is close to local amenities, transport links and offers onsite parking.

Ideally, they would like a Vet to join them on a full-time basis however they will consider part time hours however there is a 1:3 weekend rota and no ooh. The full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week.

They are looking for a confident enthusiastic veterinary surgeon and someone who is perhaps looking to take on more responsibility within a practice. They require a Vet with solid surgical and medical skills and ideally with experience in emergency work however this is not essential. The practice offers a varied and exciting case load. All of the team provide an excellent service and deliver a high standard of clinical care and this is reflected in the excellent reputation that that practice has in the local community.

Key Details:

  • Type: Small Animal
  • Hours: Monday - Friday full or part time hours available hours between 9am - 6pm
  • Weekends: Yes on a rota Saturday 9am - 4pm
  • Sole Charge: Occasional
  • OOH: None
  • Branch work: None
  • Team: 2 Vet 2 RVN, and support team
  • Computer System: RX Works
  • Consultations: 10 Minutes

About You:

  • You will want to contribute to the practice enabling them to stay at the forefront of clinical thinking whilst also maintaining the ethos of providing a high standard of clinical care to all pets.
  • You will be ambitious and looking to take the next step in your career Previous experience in a leadership role would be advantageous but not essential.
  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be confident in all areas of routine surgeries and medical cases
  • You will be happy to work sole charge when required
  • You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to develop a great rapport with both clients and staff.
  • You will be a strong team player
