We are recruiting for a permanent Veterinary Nurse to join a small animal practice near Biddulph, Staffordshire.

This is a full-time or part-time role working Monday - Friday, up to 40 hours per week with a small Saturday morning rota. The Saturday rota is not part of the 40 hours per week. The practice would also consider part time applications. There is no OOH.

About the role:

Strong interest in anaesthesia/ surgery would be great , but not essential.

The role involves all aspects of general nursing including:

• Preparing the animals for surgery and assisting the Veterinary Surgeons in theatre.
• Administering drugs
• Organize accurate billing of surgical and medical procedures of patients for clients and record clinical information
• Looking after in patients both pre and post-surgery and record clinical notes
• Take responsibility of their CPD and all requirements of their continued nursing registration
• Have excellent communication skills and know when to ask for help and assistance in difficult cases
• The RVN must have excellent customer service and communications skills and enjoy training and mentoring others where required. they will have a passionate and caring manner and be dedicated to providing excellent veterinary care.

The Person:

• You will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse
• You will have a special interest in cats and small mammals

• You will have excellent communication skills and be able to ask for help when getting into difficulty
• You will be a clinical coach or happy to train to become a clinical coach
• You will enjoy working as part of a team
• You will have a genuine passion for animal welfare
• You will consistently deliver a high standard of clinical care
• You will be caring, adaptable, hardworking, and reliable
• You will have excellent customer interfacing skills
• You will be driven and ambitious and looking to take your career to the next step and develop your clinical and skills
• You must be motivated and passionate about your work and share this and promote this ethos with other members of staff
