We are recruiting for a permanent full time Equine Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Huntingdon Cambridgeshire.

This is a full time ambulatory Vet position and the Vet would be joining a team of 10 other Vets. The practice provides a variety of equine services to its patients and also offers its services at Racecourses, Point-to-Point and numerous FEI events. The role comprises of a standard day of 8.15am - 6.15pm with a 45 minute lunch break. There is a 1:10 on call rota. The Vet receives 2 days off in lieu after working a weekend.

The Vet will be supportive by the entire practice and this also includes Equine Vets with a range of special interests and certificates. They also boast qualified Equine Nurses who are highly experienced and knowledgeable. The clinic is well equipped with state of the art surgical facilities and scintigraphy. They have all the mobile equipment as you would expect including DR , Ultrasound, shockwave and gastroscope.

They are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Vet who has excellent client facing skills.

The role offers the Vet an opportunity to develop their own area of special intertest and the practice will support and encourage this along with CPD and funding for a certificate.

About you:

• You will be an experienced Equine Veterinary Surgeon
• You will be confident in Equine Surgery
• You will always deliver a high standard of clinical care
• You will be motivated and ambitious to grow your own client bases
• You will have excellent customer facing skills
• You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians
• You will be a passionate and motivated veterinary surgeon with a genuine interest for animal welfare
• Ideally you will be a certificate holding equine surgeon or working towards a certificate

• Surgical facilities include Airway Operations, Wound Repairs, Skingrafting, Laser surgery, Arthroscopies and joint flushes.
• Full in patient care facilities for up to 7 horses at one time
• State of the art reproduction treatments
• State of the art diagnostic equipment including:
• Endoscopes
• ECG
• Ultrasound scanners for soft tissue injuries and reproductive work
• DR digital x-ray system for lameness and skeletal injuries
• In house laboratory
