Job description

We are working with an independent, mixed animal veterinary practice in Syston, Leicestershire who are recruiting for a Deputy Head Nurse to join them permanently. This is a full-time role that will involve working a variety of shifts during the week, as a well being involved on the out of hours and weekend rota.

This position would be suitable for a candidate with previous experience in a deputy head nurse role, or an experienced veterinary nurse ready to take a step up.

Key Details:

Type: Mixed animal practice

Hours Mon-Fri: Practice open from 8:30am until 6:30pm each day

Weekends and on call: 1 in 5 rota, this takes place at a practice in Melton Mowbray. You will need to be within 30 minutes of this practice

Team: Experienced staff with full support network

Branch work: Weekends and out of hours required at branch practice in Melton Mowbray.

About them:

An independent small animal veterinary practice who pride themselves on the high standards of care provided to all clients. They offer a full 24 hour service from another branch however this branch is also very busy and has a high/varied caseload. They are well equipped throughout and boast a large amount of modern equipment, providing a full small animal service.

The Person:

They are looking for a hard working veterinary nurse who ideally has experience in a similar role, or a large amount of RVN experience and ready to take a step up. You will need to be confident, enthusiastic, forward thinking and highly motivated to fit in with this practice. Excellent customer service skills and a friendly nature are also of high importance.

The Package:

23,000-28,000 oer annum

Must have:

RCVS registered and qualified

Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom

Excellent customer service and communication skills
