We are recruiting on behalf of a practice on the outskirts of Dorking close to the Surrey-Sussex border for an Orthopaedic Intern. You must be a registered veterinary surgeon to apply for this role. This role is available on a fixed term 12 month contract.
This practice is a dedicated orthopaedic and spinal referral practice. The Vet Intern would be joining a specialised team of two Veterinary Small Animal Surgeon specialists, one Advanced Practitioner and one Board Eligible Surgeon.
The practice boasts state of the art facilities which include an on-site CT scanner, and they also have a visiting mobile MRI scanner.
What do they do?
The practice offers a wide range of Orthopaedic services including Arthroscopic investigations and treatments of join disease, cruciate ligament injuries, fracture repairs, investigations of joint disorders, spinal disorders, and management of growth deformities.
They are fully equipped to deal with THR, TPLO, CUE and arthroscopy.
About the role
- The intern would assist the referral surgeons in the diagnosis and surgical management of all cases.
- They will be involved in the vital role of perioperative care of surgical cases - with supervision
- They will have the opportunity to gain a vast amount of orthopaedic experience by working closely and under the supervision of specialist surgeons.
- The role would be ideal for a recent graduate who is looking to pursue a career in referral surgery.
