Professional veterinary recruitment

We are recruiting for a Locum Vet to provide cover at a practice in Abergavenny Wales. This position is to start as soon a possible and provide regular ongoing locum cover until the end of August potentially longer. The role would involve working 4 days per week with the occasional weekend cover for a period of time. The practice would also consider having locum cover for some days during the week as opposed to the whole week.

The role is full time working 4 days per week with a 1:5 weekend rota. There is a 1:5 on call rota looking after in patients working alongside an onsite RVN and this is negotiable.

The practice boasts 4 sites in total with the locum role based at their main site however there maybe some branch work required so this would be sole charge when applicable.

The Locum would be joining a large highly experienced team of 13 Vets including certificate holding surgeons in medicine and surgery. All of the branches are fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including CR Digital radiography and Ultrasonography. They are an RCVS accredited training practice and comprise of a highly experienced team. The provide a high standard of service and clinical care and boast a large and loyal client base.

Who are they looking for

The position requires a locum who is specifically a general practitioner and competent in consulting, surgeries, dentistry, medicine, and emergencies. They must have a flexible attitude with excellemnt communication skills.

Accommodation can be provided with this position in shared accommodation or in an alternative flat at one of the branch surgeries. The locum must have a UK driving license and the practice can provide a vehicle with the locum paying for their own private mileage.

• Hours - Mon - Fri: Full time 4 days per week 8am - 7pm
• Weekend rota/hours: 1:5 Saturdays with one other Vet
• OOH rota/Hours: In patient only night on call 1:5 which is negotiable working with an onsite RVN
• Time of in lieu: None
• Sole Charge: When working at a branch practice
• Team: Large Veterinary team across 4 sites
• Computer system: Bespoke
• Consultations: 15 Minutes
• Accommodation / Allowance: Accommodation provided
• Other: Practice vehicle provided for work use and locum pays for own private mileage

Must have:

RCVS registered and qualified

Possess the right to work in the United Kingdom

6 months related experience
