Job description

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Director to join a small animal practice in Southampton, which has been operating since 1986. This practice is in an excellent location, close to the New Forest, where you can enjoy walking and cycling in your time off.

The practice is looking for a vet who has management experience, knowledge of veterinary finance, good experience gained in a small animal practice, excellent communication skills in order to inform and support clients, competent in routine surgeries and the ability to create evidence-based treatment plans. This role will involve acting in the role of clinical lead, consulting, operating and handling clinical complaints.

The role will be full time between 08:30 and 19:00 with 1hr lunch. There will be no weekends, OOH work or on-call duties.

About you:

  • Ideally you will have a good understanding of financial aspects of running a veterinary clinic including but not limited to profit and loss, budgets, and stock
  • Management experience in similar role within the industry
  • You will be comfortable in all routine surgeries and consultations
  • You will always deliver and be committed to providing a high standard of clinical care
  • You will have an enthusiastic and caring attitude
  • Youi will have strong communication skills and organisational skills
  • You will work well under pressure with a calm and confident manner
  • You will have excellent people management skills
  • A kind and empathetic attitude is essential
  • You will be ambitious looking to study towards a certificate or be a certificate holding surgeon looking to progress further

  • You will want to be at the forefront of the practice help growing and developing the services and facilities provided.

  • You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians

Package:

  • Salary: up to 70,000, commensurate to experience
