Job description

We are recruiting for a Clinical Director to join several practice and hospitals covering the Hertfordshire region.

This is a full-time position working 42 hours per week.

If you are a highly experienced Surgeon looking to take on more responsibility or perhaps a clinical director looking for a new challenge - then this could be the role for you.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • The CD will manage clinical activities across several practices within the Hertfordshire area
  • The CD will be ambitious and forward thinking and will continue to look how to optimise clinical services and how to develop the business further.
  • The CD will show financial awareness or willing to develop financial awareness and commercial awareness.
  • The CD will develop good working relationships with all teams across their region and ensure that they ae committed and understand the aims of the practice - i.e.: to develop services, commitment to clinical care, preventative healthcare advice
  • Ensuring that all clinical teams from all sites are committed to providing a high level of service to both patients and clients.
  • Adhere and uphold the core values of the business and set a standard and lead from the front
  • Ensure that all staffs skills are utilised to the max
  • Have an approachable and friendly attitude, establish working relationships easily, show understanding to colleagues and at be always honest and open.
  • Bring new ideas to the table on how to develop the business
  • Conduct formal appraisals and informal meetings, ensure changes are made where necessary, understand the needs of the practices and encourage good staff retention.

Person:

  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience with at least 2 years as a Clinical Director
  • Minimum 7 years veterinary experience with at least 2 years in the UK
  • You will be ambitious and forward thinking and looking always looking at ways to drive the business forward
  • You will be passionate and motivated to drive practices and Hospitals forward
  • You will be looking to develop your medical and surgical skill set
  • You will have excellent customer facing skills and be able to motivate other team members
  • You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians
  • You will be a passionate and motivated veterinary surgeon with a genuine interest for animal welfare

Package:

  • Salary - commensurate to experience
  • Holiday 25 days per annum plus 8 bank holidays and birthday off - holiday entitlement increases with years' service
