Locum Payment Options - Important Key Information Documents (KID)

Here at Vet Seekers, we are fully compliant and as part of our ongoing due diligence processes when you start working on any locum assignment through us, we need to inform you of your choices in the different payment types available to you.

We have created the following PAYE, PSC (LTD), Self-Employed (sole trader) and PAYE Key Information Documents (KID's) as a guide to outline necessary deductions / prospective net pay.

  • 1. Umbrella PAYE – Paid via a third-party Intermediary Company - This document sets out key information about your relationship with us (Vet Seekers) and the umbrella company or other intermediary used in your engagement, including details about pay, holiday entitlement and other benefits. Please click here: KID - Umbrella
  • 2. PSC's - Personal Service Company - Personal Service Company - Paid through your own Limited Company via Vet Seekers - This document explains your pay information if you are engaged as a Limited Company Locum (Personal Service Company – PSC), in which case the PSC is the work-seeker. This document sets out key information about your relationship with us, including details about pay, holiday entitlement and other benefits. Please click here: KID - PSC (LTD)
  • 3. PAYE – Pay as your earn scheme – Paid via Vet Seekers - This document sets out key information about your relationship as a work-seeker with us, as an employment business (Vet Seekers), including details about pay, holiday entitlement and other benefits. Please click here: KID - PAYE

  • 4. Sole Trader (Self-Employed) – Paid via the end Client (the Veterinary Practice) - This document explains your pay information if you are engaged as a Sole Trader. This document sets out key information about your relationship with us, including details about pay, holiday entitlement and other benefits. Please click here: KID - Self-Employed

Please note:

Some of these above payment options will not be available when working with specific veterinary clients due to IR35 legislation changes affecting PSC's (Ltd) and individual stance on Sole Trader (Self-Employed) entities. We will inform you directly on each available option per each individual locum assignment.

The Employment Agency Standards (EAS) Inspectorate is the government authority responsible for the enforcement of certain agency worker rights. You can raise a concern with them directly on 020 7215 5000 or eas@beis.gov.uk

Conduct Regulations – opt out:

The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003 (Conduct Regulations) automatically protect any work-seekers who are placed on assignment by an employment business.

One of the key rights under the Conduct Regulations is that a work-seeker is entitled to be paid for the work which they have carried out, irrespective of whether the employment business has been or expects to be paid by the client for that work.

This document is for information only and does not qualify as an agreement for opting out of the Conduct Regulations.

Please Note:

This outline guidance is given for information purposes only and individual situations are unique. Vet Seekers strongly recommends that independent advice should be sought from an accounting or tax professional in all cases.
